*Saturday Showcase Games*
Saturday will be showcase format with each team playing 3 games. Game times will be 1:20 drop dead and finish the at-bat. No official scores will be kept on Saturday. That means:
No line-up cards.
Bat entire roster but keep integrity of the line-up.
**Please take note of the rules we have implemented for SATURDAY ONLY!
Keep in mind College Coaches come to showcases to see players' skill set. They want to see players in action. As you know, often times a recruiter comes to watch a player and nothing is hit her way, the player is out of the rotation or it's just a non-action game. In our showcase we want to help create action for the college recruiters and your players alike. College coaches never walk up and say "what's the score" or "who's winning" they are truly there to see prospects in action. So we have instituted the two following rules. *Remember the goal here is to create action.
#1 If a batter is walked (perhaps a recruiter has been waiting all day to see player bat) a runner will be put on first base and the batter will bat again starting with a 0-0 count. If batter is walked again, then she will advance to first base as she would in regular play. This creates action for both teams and allows more exposure for your players. Coaches get to see runners on base or possibly gets to see great defensive or offensive situations take place.
#2 If a player is hit by a pitch. The same rule above will apply.
We asked recruiters what they would like to see different at showcases and this is one idea we came up with. We would love to hear your feedback during or after the showcase. Find Dan Pearson and let him know your thoughts.
On Saturday, all teams will complete a blind draw for their position and game time for Sunday. The bracket should be completed no later than 5:00PM after the draws are completed on Saturday and will be posted at each park and on our website. The Saturday showcase games will not count for seeding on Sunday. Sunday will be single elimination with high school rules in effect. So, strategize and play for the win to keep advancing.
